How to start a remote visit in a video room

  1. Open the video room at vierailu.fi
  2. Fill in your name and click “Join meeting” button
  3. Enable your camera and microphone when requested (see video below)

Which device or browser can I use to join the call?

You can use Vooler on most modern browsers with Android and iOS devices.

Supported computer browsers:

  • Chrome
  • Chromium Edge, requires a newer version than 80
  • Firefox
  • Opera
  • Safari

Supported mobile browsers:

  • Requires at least iPhone 6s and iOS 12.4.8 or newer
  • iPad and iOS 12.4.8 or newer
  • Maximum of a 4 years old Android phone or tablet and Android 8 or newer

I accidentally blocked the use of the camera or microphone, how can I allow them again?

If you have blocked the use of the microphone or video camera on your browser, act according to the following steps in different browsers.

Android-device: Chrome-browser

The following instructions varies in different phone models.

Chrome remembers formerly selected microphone and camera settings. If you have blocked the use of the camera or microphone, you have to change the settings using browser settings.

  1. Press the icon with three dots at the top corner (or other similar place) of the browser, which will open a new window on the screen.
  2. Navigate to the browser’s own settings.
  3. Choose “Site settings” beneath Additional settings.
  4. Choose all the pages or certain permissions you want to change, such as the camera’s.
  5. Choose Vooler’s page: app.vooler.fibr>
  6. Allow permissions to the devices you don’t want to be blocked or press wipe and reset so that you can choose the permissions again as they need to be.

iPhone or iPad: Safari-browser

Safari asks for permission every time you come to the video room or put your microphone or video camera on.

  1. Click the red icon of the microphone or video camera.
  2. Allow the use of the microphone or video camera when the browser asks for permission on popup.

Computer: Chrome-browser

Chrome remembers the disallowing of the microphone or camera. After forbidding it, it has to be allowed again using the following directions.

  1. Click the camera icon at the right corner of the address field. There is a small red x if the camera has been forbidden.
  2. Choose option: “Allow the use of the camera always…”

Computer: Edge-browser

  1. Click the camera/microphone icon, with a red ball and a black x inside, in the address field.
  2. Choose to allow the web page (name of the page) to use the camera/microphone.
  3. This has to be chosen separately for both features when you are putting the device using this permission on in the call (camera/microphone).

Computer: Firefox-browser

Firefox asks for permission when you return to the meeting room after rebooting the browser. You can allow the microphone and camera again either by restarting the browser or following the instructions below.

  1. Click the camera or microphone icon at the left side of the address field. If their use has been blocked, they will have a line drawn over them.
  2. Remove the blocking of the camera and/or microphone by clicking the x-icon after them.

Computer: Opera-browser

Opera remembers the disallowing of the camera or microphone. After forbidding it, it has to be allowed again using the following directions.

  1. Click the camera-icon at the left side of the address field.
  2. Click the button at the bottom of the popup and empty the ban of the camera and microphone.

Computer: Safari-browser

Safari asks for permission when you rejoin the video room unless you have permanently forbidden the use of the camera on this page. You can allow the camera and microphone again either by rebooting the browser or following the instructions below.

  1. Go to the computer’s menu: Safari –› Asetukset
  2. Choose Camera or microphone from the left.
  3. Find vooler.fi from the list and change it from “Block” to “Allow”.
The page is asking for permission to use the microphone/camera. What do I do?

If you want to use your microphone or send video from your camera during the meeting you have to give the rights to use these features. Without the permissions you can only follow the call.

Why can’t others hear me in the call?
  • Make sure that your microphone is on: the microphone icon on the right side or at the bottom of your screen is green.
  • You might have the wrong microphone chosen. Press the “More”-button at the right top or bottom corner, choose “Open sound settings” and pick the microphone youy want to use.
  • You might have not given the permission to use the microphone, make sure you have allowed it. In most browsers the permissions can be checked from the camera or microphone icons on the address field. Please contact Support if you need help with this.
  • If none of the above helps, please contact Support.
Why isn’t my video feed visible for me or anyone else?
  • If your picture only shows black with a ball in the middle with 1-2 letters or a profile picture in it, check that the camera icon on the right side or at the bottom of your screen is green. Also check that the camera has been attached correctly to the device.
  • Check that nothing is blocking your camera and make sure you have the right camera chosen. Press the “More”-button at the right top or bottom corner, click the “change the video”-button or go to “Edit profile” and choose “device settings” and pick a working camera.
  • You might have not given the permission to use the camera, make sure you have allowed it. In most browsers the permissions can be checked from the camera or microphone icons on the address field. Please contact Support if you need help with this.
  • If none of the above helps, please contact Support.
How do I exit the call?

Press the red phone-icon on the right or left side of the bottom of the screen and click “Leave the call”.

Something different and unexpected happened during the call. What do I do?

Make an error report using the form below or contact Support and describe what happened to the best of your ability. For example: which device(s) you were using, which browser you were using, what kind of internet connection you have and what were you doing when the problem occured.
